War of Ashird is a unique combination of classic turn-based and grid-based RPGs. In it, you can command your soldiers in strategic battles, conquer enemy kingdoms' territories, and live as a ruler! The game also has a cast of more than 20 playable characters for you to recruit—each with their own unique personality.

The story revolves around Deegan—a young hunter who, through a twist of fate, joins the Kingdom of Ceredia's army. As a young recruit, you will get promoted, gain lordship over land, and even your own castle!

A unique hybrid of grid-based and turn-based combat: In War of Ashird, skirmishes over territory and most story battles are grid-based, with up to 7 characters engaging an enemy army. When fighting bosses or the lord of a given region, however, the game switches to a turn-based battle system with 3 party members instead.

Own land and become lord of a castle: Who wouldn't want to be master of their own domain—and who wouldn't want to expand it further? But wait… if you have a castle, you'll need a helpful maid to take care of it! As your rank rises in Ceredia, you'll get your own land, a castle, and one of four lovely servants.

As a lord, you decide your people's fate.

Forge your own story: You can decide how to finish certain tasks and missions, which will shape your character as the game goes on. Are you going to protect your kingdom, or are you going to destroy it—along with everything else? The choice is yours!

Good or evil? The choice is yours!

War of Ashird's gameplay is divided into several stages: The first are story scenes, where you interact with various characters, make decisions, and experience the game's plot!

The next stage is exploration. As a young soldier, you will take part in countless missions and battles—but eventually you'll be free to travel across the continent, discover new cities and side quests, and make new friends!

You will use a map to explore Ashird—including the 20 cities mentioned above and even some hidden locations! Can you find them all?

The world map also contains information about new main quests, side quests, and character events.

If you're feeling ambitious enough, you can even invade your neighbors!

As mentioned above, War of Ashird has over 20 playable characters—each with their own exciting events, special skills, and a unique personality to match both! By recruiting a lot of them, you can experience plenty of interesting story scenes… but things aren't always perfect; for example, rivalries might develop between certain characters and others might get into trouble!

New characters will be described throughout our campaign, so we encourage you to check back frequently and learn about all of them!

The Kingdom of Ceredia doesn't use magic, so their soldiers don't have MP (Mana Points). Instead, they use AP (Action Points) to deal more damage! Certain characters also have demonic weapons and can unleash unique, powerful skills.

The Free Cities' Alliance—as a union of several smaller settlements—does not have a real army and instead uses mercenaries. Some of them are mages, who use MP to unleash powerful spells and summon familiars in battle.

The Prisean Empire is the oldest nation on the continent, so their combat system mixes both AP and MP. In addition, their main characters can use unique powers from certain artifacts.

Our project is possible thanks to the Unity engine. We started our adventure with this engine four years ago, and we think it is the best choice for War of Ashird. Thanks to it, we can develop our project without any major restrictions!

Below, we will showcase some of the things we've made using Unity—though please keep in mind that they (and any screenshots above) may not necessarily reflect War of Ashird's final release!

Our main goals with War of Ashird are to create a fulfilling experience for our players, to make each location and landscape feel unique, and to craft a captivating story no matter what choices you make.

War of Ashird's OST will consist of 2 CDs containing about 50 music tracks, and will be composed by Andy Hiroyuki—a composer from Japan that has worked on several other projects.

We decided to cooperate with him not only because his music excellently matches our game, its plot, and its world—but also because he, like us, has a passion for RPGs!

• Partial voice for all characters:

Each of our characters has partial Japanese voice acting for story and battle scenes. Below, you can listen to some of Mayumi Shimazu's lines!

• War of Ashird will be released on PC in 2021. Following that, we will do our best to release a console version in 2022.

Development has been ongoing for the past three years. Our current goals are to make demos available to our backers by the end of this year, and Early Access versions in early 2021.

Thanks to the internet, development has fewer barriers. Our team consists of people with diverse experiences and tastes—people who've worked on games like Bloody Chronicles, Doki Doki Literature Club!, and projects from studios like Square Enix! Everyone brings something unique to the table, even beyond their stated roles.

Our team decided to open a Kickstarter campaign in order to improve the game's quality, expand the battle system, and give players something wonderful to look forward to!
